Losartan Potassium

Losartan Potassium is an oral angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels, which improves blood flow and reduces the workload on the heart. It also helps prevent renal disease progression in diabetic patients.

Dosage by Body Weight

For adults, the typical starting dose is 50 mg once daily, which may be adjusted between 25 mg and 100 mg daily. For pediatric patients 6 years of age and older, the recommended starting dose is approximately 0.7 mg/kg once daily (up to 50 mg).
